Amanda has been writing for as long as she can remember. As an only child she spent years locked away in her bedroom tormented by an evil…
Well ok…The door wasn’t exactly locked, there was no evil (except in stories) and there were a few hundred books in there to keep her company.
Here’s a short story she wrote -
Faith, in the face of adversity, is sometimes all we have left.
It takes courage to believe in ancient wisdom, especially when it's long been forgotten ~ The Lady: 1806
An ancient secret that ensures a successful harvest has been lost. Only Hudson remembers a time when the skies didn't burn and as the village disappears, Hudson sets out to deliver a vital message to the only family he has left.
A short story by A. L. Betley
I love helping fellow artists. It’s a passion of mine so if you have a new book you’d like to showcase, send me a note as to why you think you’d be a good fit for this site & if I like it I’ll include you. Simple as that xxx
Show us your shelfies!! We all have our favourite bookish nooks & crannies & they’re usually stuffed with our favourite timeless classics. Send me your favourite shelfie shots. Tell me what you like about it & be featured here with a link to your ‘bookish’ blog.
Why?
Because we can & we don’t care what real people think. A changeling made me do it.
Ok I know that technically it’s just a photo of a a cushion in a corner, but it just loudly whispers ‘sit here and read a book’ to me. I can’t resist.
For those quiet winter nights I can imagine snuggling down here wrapped in a fluffy blanked, drinking coco, reading a favourite book. Look at those rich colours, perfect for relaxing. This was from a big old country house I visited in England.
